A slice of Europe in the heart of Knowlton.
Originally established to house a tannery in 1843, the stone building currently serving as the Carpe Diem Gallery’s home has been a landmark to the town of Knowlton ever since.
Opening officially the building in October of 2008, Nicole Taillon, the gallery’s owner, has not failed to notice the fact that the building occupies a central place in the area both geographically and historically. Since, she has succeeded in turning the crumbling edifice into a resplendent cultural hub where inspiration and cordiality go hand in hand.
The Carpe Diem Gallery is a place where finesse is accessible to all, without obligations or cookie-cutter timeframes.
A place where you can discover the works of internationally acclaimed artists such as Alain Gagné, Marc Brochier, Guy Labbé, Claude Martin, Johanne Duchaine, René Richard, Colette Falardeau and Daniela Zekina. The gallery also boasts the bronze work of Nicole Taillon; over thirty pieces of hers are available sur place!
Equipped with a wine bar, the “gallery-bistro-venue” offers a laid-back atmosphere where one can always come to marvel either at works of art from humans or nature. Indeed, the gallery offers three outdoor terraces, one of which overlooks the majestic Coldbrook river. Any season offers its charms here, be they those enjoyed in springtime with a fresh Sauvignon blanc or those that delight you in winter as you cup your hands around a mug of hot red. Here’s a place where you can really “seize the day”.
Free high-speed wifi.
